The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the first table of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Overture, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might appear mismatched, but the events of the latest installment show why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his personal gain, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, desires revenge.
- The adventurer has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their status as key figures in the powerful family could enable the team enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the powers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them few options but to travel to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
