Ismailer noted that the developers is now reimagining Project Ethos with a renewed approach, aiming to satisfy player expectations.
Trend of Strategic Hires
This announcement mirrors a similar step taken by the publisher in August, when they brought on Rod Fergusson from Blizzard to work on the BioShock development group.
Below is the entire message from Ismailer's announcement:
Hello Everyone—
I understand you all just finished your meeting - I trust you’re as enthusiastic as I am with the good news. Last time I sent you all a note, I stated the following: “I believe in this group. You all are some of the most dedicated and creative developers we have had the opportunity to partner with - and we’re looking forward for that relationship to endure.”
With your dedication and versatility, particularly over the past twelve months, you consistently demonstrate that.
The community feedback from last autumn’s Project ETHOS playtest was enlightening. It confirmed the potential of a roguelike shooter but made clear we still had refinements needed. It uncovered the necessity for a more distinct brand.
It’s been inspiring to see how far you’ve come. You embraced the feedback to heart and overhauled Project ETHOS with a refreshed goal - one that’s poised to fulfill its potential to our audience.
Our confidence in Project ETHOS grows every day. To further the remarkable development you’ve made, It is a pleasure to introduce the new hire as the incoming Director of 31st Union. Following some time of talks, he starts with us on next week.
His management and background in the competitive gaming space is extensive, having dedicated the past decade and a half producing and managing some of the most popular franchises in gaming, including Call of Duty: Black Ops, and more recently, the battle royale hit.
Let’s together in greeting him soon. We are all looking forward to continue seeing the evolution of Project ETHOS in the time to come.
David
