I will stamp all over 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, frequently receiving huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
